Community Technology Centers (CTC)

Project Overview

“Within walking distance” of nearly all Kalihi residents, CTC’s support major low-income ethnic groups: Filipino, Samoan, and Native Hawaiian. 40% speak English as a second language.
Existing computer labs in six community agencies have computers and other technology of variable quality, available during limited hours.
Upgraded equipment and software, improved internet access, (re)trained personnel, and ensured accessibility, and have also brought in expertise and resources such as Americorps volunteers and college interns.
High proportions of children are at-risk, have special needs and/or English as a second language.
